Smart phones come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, brands, capabilities, and handicaps. One of those handicaps can be a lack of memory size. For whatever reason, you may be the owner of one such memory-insufficient device. If you are, I'm sure you're already frustrated with the lag you have to deal with during day-to-day usage of your device, and may find yourself asking: "How can I speed up my phone?"
There are several things you can do to increase your phone speed, the easiest being to download a performance app. Now I know that finding the right performance app can lead to another set of questions like: What is a performance app? How do I know which app to download, and do I have to pay for it? How do I know which app I can trust? Is there anything that I should do before installing and using a performance app? etc. etc. etc. I'm going to make a few recommendations and share some links that will hopefully make finding the right app for you a little less painless. Let's get started making the speed of your phone more bearable.
Simply put, a performance app is an app that is used to increase the performance of your phone. It doesn't use any smartphone guru magic, as some apps might try to lead you to believe. A performance app uses several different functions to free up space on your device. The most common functions are: clearing the cache of the apps on your phone, clearing photos and videos that are determined to be large, deleting empty folders and downloaded files, and closing apps that bog down the processor by running in the background. Each app may utilize different functions to achieve the same goal, but often the largest difference is aesthetics.
All you need to do before you install a performance app is find the one that works best for you. Below I've linked a list of recommended apps from Mobile App Daily for the android users.
The list gives several options to chose from, and it should help narrow things down for you.
I use and recommend Assistant for Android. It's very simple, easy to use, and best of all, it's free with no ads. You have full access to all the options without the need to upgrade.
For the iPhone users out there, iGeeksBlog put out a list of their top eight iPhone cleaner apps that you can access here: https://www.igeeksblog.com/best-cleaner-apps-for-iphone-ipad/
Don't fear downloading an app that you don't like, if it isn't working for you, just delete it and try another one. It's one reason the "paid" apps offer a free version - so you can, "Try it before you buy it!"
Hopefully, this has helped you to find the right performance app and on your way to a faster phone. There are additional steps you'll need to take to further speed up your phone, and I will address them in the upcoming weeks. Make sure you subscribe on my site at kleintechservices.com so you don't miss out on the next post where I'll discuss how to utilize your chosen performance app more effectively.
God Bless,
